s
we begin the New Year, I'd like to take this time to thank you for teaming
with us on a very successful and productive 1997. A year ago I promised
that CBS would focus upon making Contract Billing a positive competitive
differentiator for you and MCI customers. In the last twelve months CBS
made great strides in accomplishing this ambitious goal. We streamlined
the contract enrollment process, expanded presale coverage, launched the
standard reporting package, reduced DRO (days to revenue outstanding), increased
the timeliness and consistency of billing package delivery and implemented
numerous premier service initiatives. And all of this was accomplished during
a period of incredible contract volume growth.
In 1998 our challenge
continues. The company is demanding all of us to be more cost efficient.
In response to this demand, we need to focus on two key areas; 1) automation
initiatives to bring additional operational efficiencies, and 2) your continuing
support to help us structure deals within our existing billing capabilities,
reducing one-offs, and improving the billability and collectability of contracts.
I look forward to a
continued successful partnership in 1998.
