s we begin the New Year, I'd like to take this time to thank you for teaming with us on a very successful and productive 1997. A year ago I promised that CBS would focus upon making Contract Billing a positive competitive differentiator for you and MCI customers. In the last twelve months CBS made great strides in accomplishing this ambitious goal. We streamlined the contract enrollment process, expanded presale coverage, launched the standard reporting package, reduced DRO (days to revenue outstanding), increased the timeliness and consistency of billing package delivery and implemented numerous premier service initiatives. And all of this was accomplished during a period of incredible contract volume growth.
In 1998 our challenge continues. The company is demanding all of us to be more cost efficient. In response to this demand, we need to focus on two key areas; 1) automation initiatives to bring additional operational efficiencies, and 2) your continuing support to help us structure deals within our existing billing capabilities, reducing one-offs, and improving the billability and collectability of contracts.
I look forward to a continued successful partnership in 1998.

SCA Contracts Supported Grew 15%
In 1997, CBS sustained an average contract growth of over 15%. CBS supported this phenomenal growth, while at the same time, enhancing our services.

29 Days eliminated from contract signature process

CBS's Billing Contract Administration reduced the number of days it takes to get legal approval and MCI signatures from 32.0 to 3.3 days.

Billing Timeliness Sustains all time high!
Organizational and process investments introduced in early 1997 are paying off! In the past 6 months billing timeliness has been at an all time high. Process streamlining, automation and training will sustain these trends in 1998.

Standard reporting package Launched!
The CBS standard reporting package, complete with charts and graphs, is now available to all new CNA, Major and Strategic Accounts with an SCA term commitment, or to existing SCA contract renewals.
